Electronic Deadman Control
The electronic deadman control shall prevent an unintentional use of a joystick, which can cause unwanted movement of cranes or machines.
The operator has to release the joystick by putting it back to the neutral position before giving the ultimate command. Without this release the joystick will not react and no commands will be conveyed from transmitter to receiver.
After the release, the joystick remains active until it returns to the neutral position and remains there for set amount of time. The active/inactive status of the joystick is indicated by a LED on the transmitter.
This feature can be set for a drive, a joystick or even two joysticks.
Changing the RF-Channel
In order to ensure interference-free operation of a radio control system it may be necessary to change the RF-channel locally.
Changing the RF-channel can become necessary due to interference or the fact that a specific RF-channel is already in use. A change of channel can be performed either by reprogramming the TransKey or by reprogramming the transmitter. Reprogramming of the transmitter is performed using the transmitter keypad and requires no additional equipment.
Tandem Operation
In the case of tandem operation the receivers can be controlled alternately either via one or two transmitters. One transmitter assumes responsibility for commands via an active request command.
Only by an active release command the receiver is given free and the other operator is able to have access to the receiver again. This option is the ideal soloution where heavy or long products have to be transported simulteaneously by tow cranes operating in tandem.
Man-down Alert
As operation of a remote control always requires the operator to be in an upright position, the transmitter has a tilt sensor which monitors whether the transmitter and thus also the operator are in an upright position.
If the transmitter or the operator are no longer in an upright position, a warning signal will sound after a brief period; this warns that the transmitter is in a tilted position. Unless the transmitter is not returned to an upright position or a certain button is not pressed in order to extend the tilt period, the crane or machine is automatically brought to a standstill by a forced braking.
